Sticky Chai | Medium caffeine

Gently warming & sweet with a chilli kick, this Sticky Chai is the perfect way to fill your cup this autumn season.

Our famous Sticky Chai recipe (the first in the UK!) is made in small batches, using freshly ground spices & wildflower honey. Think of it as speciality tea, hand-blended with soul-warming spice. We love to infuse it with our limited edition tea blends to create magical & unique blends. Now this is what cosy smells like!

The history of Sticky Chai

☕ What Is Sticky Chai?

Sticky Chai is a modern take on traditional Indian masala chai. It combines tea leaves, spices & honey into a thick, sticky blend that's easy to brew & packed with flavour.

📜 Where It All Started

Masala chai has been enjoyed in India for centuries. It's brewed with black tea, milk, & spices like cardamom and ginger. Sticky Chai, however, is a much more recent invention.

🌏 A Modern Invention

Sticky Chai emerged in the early 2000s in Australia, where baristas wanted a chai that was more authentic than powders or syrup. Mixing spices & tea with honey created a ready to use blend that locked in flavour and aroma.

🍯 The UK’s First Sticky Chai

Bird & Blend introduced the UK’s first Sticky Chai. Using eight spices & wildflower honey, the recipe quickly became a fan favourite & even won a Great Taste Award!

How to make sticky chai

How to make a hot sticky chai

    Step 1

    2 tea spoons (or 1 heaped tea spoon) to 1 cup of milk.

    Heat with milk on stove or pop in the microwave

  • sticky chai hot tea filtering

    Step 3

    Strain out in your fave mug with an infuser/ strainer.

    Sprinkle with cinnamon, cocoa powder or nutmeg!

How to make iced sticky chai

    2 tea spoons (or one heaped spoon) of chosen sticky chai flavour

  • sticky chai in a brewdini

    Step 2

    Add to your Brewdini or strainer of choice, top with water & steep for 4 minutes.

    Step 3

    Once brewed pop into a fridge or pour into a cocktail shaker with ice & shake, shake, shake!

Perfect for a cold winter’s day

Stopped by at the Garage market in Chilwell today and picked this up for my partner. She LOVED it. Not a big hot drink fan but said the spice was the perfect amount so it doesn’t burn your mouth but makes you feel extra toasty. The only reason it’s not 5/5 is the chocolate flavour could be a bit more obvious.

Too much chilli

Similar to a different reviewer, I also tried this chai in-store and absolutely loved it! Bought a pack and just haven't been able to replicate it. I've tried different ratios of the chai, different methods of brewing and still it is far too spicy; the chilli just completely overpowers, making it undrinkable. Very disappointed as this was my first of Bird & Blend's sticky chai I've tried, and I'm usually a big chai drinker! Not this one, unfortunately.
