Meet Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder! We’re so excited to be welcoming another Hojicha to our range of teas for a limited time only. Hojicha provides a new & exciting way to enjoy tea for those reducing or avoiding caffeine. Like matcha tea, Hojicha is a type of Japanese green tea, but then it undergoes a magical process that gives it a different flavour & caffeine level.
Roasting the tea leaves over charcoal turns the tea leaves a reddish-brown colour & reduces caffeine content, making it a fantastic alternative to matcha tea that can be enjoyed as a hot tea, over ice or as a latte. Delicious! The roasting process also gives it a distinct toasty, nutty flavour with minimal bitterness. And of course, we’ve done what we do best & given it an extra tasty twist, blending with natural ingredients to create a gently spiced & cakey cookie flavour that’s simply irresistible.

How to make a Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon (½ tsp) of Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder.
- 150ml of 80°C water (around 80°C to avoid burning the powder & giving a bitter taste - if you don’t have a fancy kettle, we suggest putting a splash of cold before the hot!).
- Traditional Bamboo Matcha Whisk or Handheld Milk & Matcha Frother.
- Your favourite mug.
WHAT TO DO:
- Add one level Perfect Matcha Spoon (½ tsp) of tea powder into a bowl & add a splash of 80° water.
- Whisk using a Traditional Bamboo Matcha Whisk or milk frother until all the powder is dissolved.
- Pour into your favourite mug
From here, you can make…
- Hot Tea: Top up with hot water & add a splash of milk if desired.
- Hot Tea Latte: Gently warm 150ml of milk, froth, then add to your mug with a pump of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup or sweetener of your choice to taste if you’d like.
- Iced Tea Latte: Pour your hojicha tea shot over ice & top up with cold milk of your choice, we like oat. Lastly add a pump of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup or sweetener of your choice to your glass.
Magic Whisk Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder Latte

Here's how to make a velvety tea powder latte using our Matcha Latte Magic Whisk!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1 Perfect Matcha Spoon (½ tsp) of Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder

250ml of your chosen milk (we like oat).

Matcha Latte Magic Whisk

Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup (or sweetener of your choice) (optional)
WHAT TO DO:
- Add 250ml of your chosen milk to you Matcha Latte Magic Whisk & press the power button.
- To get a perfect velvety smooth Cookie Hojicha tea latte, sprinkle 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon of Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder over your milk as it spins in your Magic Whisk. By gently sprinkling the tea powder over the milk as it spins you can achieve the best results & avoid any clumping.
- After you have sprinkled in your Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder you can then add 1 teaspoon of your Sweetbird Vanilla syrup (optional).
- Place the lid on top of your machine & watch the magic happen.
- Pour into your favourite mug & enjoy!
