Fearne & Rosie Jam Jar Hojicha Recipe
Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea with a nutty, smoky, & comforting flavour profile, making it a perfect base for fun-filled recipes. This recipe, inspired by buttered toast, raspberry jam, & a sneaky caramel drizzle, is a collaboration with B Corp preserve-makers Fearne & Rosie, bringing a playful twist to tea time.
Designed to be quick & easy, this recipe uses a kitchen staple - a jam jar! Using the jam jar itself to mix & chill your latte, offering a quick & satisfying shake-up!
Get ready to sip on nostalgia with this simple, delightful iced latte.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
-
25ml hot water (around 80°C to avoid burning the powder & giving a bitter taste - if you don’t have a fancy kettle, we suggest putting a splash of cold before the hot!)
-
A clean jam jar with a lid
-
Ice
-
Milk of your choice (we recommend oat milk for creaminess)
WHAT TO DO:
-
Take your clean jar & add 1-2 teaspoons of Fearne & Rosie Raspberry Preserve to the bottom. To make your hojicha shot, put 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon of Jam Jar Hojicha powder into a small bowl or cup. Add 25ml of 80°C/water. Use a whisk (a Bamboo Matcha Whisk or Milk Frother) to mix the hojicha until smooth & lump-free.
-
Pour the whisked hojicha shot directly over the jam in the jar.
-
Fill the jar with ice cubes, leaving enough space for the milk.
-
Pour your chosen milk over the ice (we used around 100ml, but fill to what fits comfortably in your jar).
-
Securely fasten the lid onto your jar. Give the jar a vigorous shake for about 10-15 seconds until the preserve, hojicha, & milk are fully combined & the drink is deliciously chilled.
-
Remove the lid & top with dried raspberries. You can sip it straight from the jar or pour it into a tall glass if preferred, but who doesn’t love the novelty of sipping out of a jam jar?
-
Enjoy!
