What is the ChariTEA of the Quarter all about?
When we founded Bird & Blend back in 2012, we knew we wanted to build more than just a tea company, we wanted to create something that gave back to the world and the communities around us. Supporting causes close to our hearts, helping people and protecting the environment have always been at the core of what we do. That’s why we created our ChariTEA of the Quarter (see what we did there?).
Every three months, we partner with a different charity, donating 100% of the online profits from their chosen blend directly to their cause. Beyond fundraising, we also use our platform to shine a light on the incredible work they do.
This quarter, our ChariTEA partner is Girlguiding Anglia, who have chosen Enchanted Narnia as their blend.
Who are Girlguiding Anglia and how do they help?
Girlguiding Anglia is one of the nine countries and regions of Girlguiding – the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls. The region covers 12 counties across the east of England, from the Norfolk broads, to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire. With over 45,000 young members and over 12,000 amazing volunteers, Girlguiding Anglia’s reach spreads across towns and cities from Lincoln, all the way to Southend.
Girlguiding Anglia is dedicated to enabling girls and young women to develop their potential and make a difference in the world. They offer girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference in their communities.
At its heart, Girlguiding Anglia believes in giving every girl a space where she can truly be herself. That might mean the freedom to climb, camp, and kayak, or the chance to explore science, art, and activism. For some, it’s about the friendships and fun of weekly meetings; for others, it’s discovering confidence they didn’t know they had.
Girlguiding Anglia is here to support all girls and young women, helping them to develop and fulfil their potential. A big part of that is making sure everyone is included whilst valuing and celebrating different experiences and characteristics. They want every girl to have the chance to do amazing things, whoever they are and wherever they’re from.
Girlguiding Anglia promotes an inclusive and safe environment where all girls and young women, including trans girls and young women, are accepted. Non-binary people assigned female at birth and trans boys should also feel welcome.
Behind the scenes, everything is made possible by dedicated volunteers: leaders, mentors, parents, carers, and young leaders who give their time and energy to make sure guiding is accessible to all. Their efforts mean that girls who might never have had the chance to camp under the stars, take part in a community project, or lead a team, get to do exactly that.

How Girlguiding Anglia is working with Bird & Blend
This quarter, every cup of Enchanted Narnia supports Girlguiding Anglia in their mission to help all girls know they can do anything.
“It’s a safe space for us. Because if at school you’d get bullied, you wouldn’t get bullied at Guides. And it’s a happy place for everyone.” Girl, 15.
The work that Girlguiding Anglia volunteers do helps create this safe space where girls can be themselves, grow their confidence and have adventures they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
By getting your ChariTEA this quarter, you will be helping Girlguiding Anglia to continue to provide exceptional experiences for tens of thousands of girls. Get your cup of Enchanted Narnia here!
How Bird & Blend are Supporting Girlguiding Anglia
Bird & Blend have teamed up with a group of volunteers and staff at Girlguiding Anglia to create a challenge pack and a badge for their members to complete in their units. The challenge pack is themed around Wellbeing and encourages girls to consider different aspects of their wellbeing through activities in different sections like financial, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Charlotte Wright, Girlguiding Anglia’s assistant chief commissioner, and lead volunteer for the creation of the challenge pack explained the goals of the pack and the importance of the Wellbeing challenge:
“Our wellbeing challenge is thoughtfully designed to guide girls and women through the key aspects of wellbeing in a way that’s engaging and empowering. Our goal is to make wellbeing approachable and relevant, encouraging girls and women to reflect on their own experiences while gaining practical skills to use in everyday life. In true Bird & Blend style, the challenge would not be complete without a tea party.”
Bird & Blend have also supported Girlguiding Anglia events through different avenues, like sponsoring all members calls, supplying free tea bags to thousands of volunteers as part of their Pyjama Party event for over 20,000 girls and 4,000 volunteers, and attending events like their Amazing Anglia award ceremony and their takeover day of Hertfordshire Zoo.
